Obituary

Pastor Leonard Bosley, Jr. was born and raised in Clarksville, Tennessee. He was the 13th child born to Leonard and Cecil Bosley, Sr. He accepted Christ at an early age at The New Hope Baptist Church, and graduated from Burt High School in Clarksville, Tennessee. Leonard went on to serve in the Vietnam war as a member of the United States Army in 1967 and was honorably discharged. Leonard met and married Sibina Bosley, and to that union were born two children, son, Aaron Raphael Bosley, Sr. and daughter, Sarah Nicole Bosley.

He recieved his calling to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and he preached his trial sermon, "Build on a Solid Foundation" which was Leonard's proudest moment, at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Wilson Williams in 1979. On September 3, 1994, Leonard married the love of his life, Arnita Porter at Holy Temple Missionary Baptist Church where he also was the Senior Pastor for 20 years and served faithfully until his retirement in November of 2013 . Leonard and Arnita were happily married for 16 years. He also was a dedicated employee at Chrysler McGraw Glass Plant Local 227 for 35 years until he retired in January 2003.

Leonard was a man of faith, love, and family. His fondest memory was when all of his siblings would fellowship with laughter, cooking, and reflecting back on old times in the country while growing up.  He loved listening to and singing gospel music. His favorite songs were, "Nearer my God to Thee", and "God is still in Charge".
Leonard was preceded in death by his father and mother Leonard & Cecil Bosley, Sr.,  siblings, Perry Lee, Eva, Lorene, Leroy, Lewis, Willsue, William, Esthelle, Magdalene, Bernice, Jimmy, Eleanor, his loving wife Arnita Bosley, and son Harry Lee Porter III. Leonard leaves to cherish in loving memory, his children: son Aaron Raphael Bosley, Sr. daughters Sarah Bosley, Lisa Denarian-Ford, grandchildren: Anitra Bosley, Arcyndia, and Aaron Raphael Bosley, Jr., Jazmine, Eric, Mahari and Sydney, great grandchildren: J’Niyah, Eric, C.J. and Nasir, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
