Leonard Earl Jackson was born on September 29, 1969, to Leonard McGigor and Dortha Jackson in Detroit, Michigan.
Leonard graduated from Denby High School in 1987. His love for preparing and cooking food led him to chose Culinary Arts as his career choice, working at his first job at Sparky Herbert’s in Grosse Pointe in 1986. He also worked at the Van Dyke Park Hotel in Warren and Children’s Hospital of Michigan for many years. He worked at several restaurants and hotels – the last one being the Detroit Marriott.
Leonard’s favorite activities were football, bowling, movies and other fun things with his family and friends.
Leonard confessed Christ as his personal Savoir and was baptized at Fountain of Truth as the age of 30.
Leonard made his transition on Monday, May 6, 2019, at Henry Ford Hospital. His father (Leonard), his grandfather (Willie Jackson) and his uncle (Willie Jackson, Jr.) preceded him in death.
Leonard leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted mother, Dortha Simpson; children: Nichelle, Courtney, Paris (Danielle) of Leeds, Alabama, and Lecah; seven grandchildren: Asia, Nijah, Elijah, Kourtney, Chief, Kai and Maisyn; also his grandmother: Ardella Jackson; the father who raised him: Carl Simpson; one brother, Sean; aunt: Norma; uncle: Clifford, great uncles great aunts, several cousins, a very special and loving friend, Tyricka Marks; and a host of relatives and friends.
