Charles Shanks

Charles Shanks was born and raised in South Carolina. Both parents preceded him in death.

Charles moved to Detroit, Michigan met and married Theodis Simmons Shanks who preceded him in death

Charles affectionately known as Charlie by Co-workers and friends, worked at Farris Bros Furniture Warehouse for many years until retirement

He was an avid Hunter and Fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors.

Charles departed this life in Harper Hospital of Natural causes. Charles leaves to cherish his memory, one son Shawn (Renaye); two daughters, Charlene (Tyrail), and Sandra (Leo); one son and one daughter, Charles, Jr. and Marvina preceded him in death. Eleven grandchildren: Shawn, Jr., Brandon, Chiquita (Shawn), D’Angelo, Damien, Donesha, Sonia, Charles (Sonia), Shontae, Nakisha (Demetrius), Shavonne (Fiancé’ Kenny); twenty-three great grands, one (Charles Jr.,) preceded him in death; and eight great great grandchildren. Special cousin, Charles Ford and a host of family and friends.
