Carmell Willis was born September 22, 1945, to the late Alexander and Ruby Willis in Detroit, Michigan. Carmell Willis was the fifth child of eleven, one sister and four brothers preceded her in death.
Carmell gave her life over to Christ as she was touched by the Holy Spirit while being ministered to by the late Pastor Morris Hampton of New Christian Missionary Baptist Church. Carmell received her formal education in the Detroit Public School, where she attended Lincoln Elementary and Northern High. Carmell was employed at Ford Motor Company before her illness.
Carmell Willis was a woman of steel, she was an excellent cook, she enjoyed cooking on the holidays and birthdays for her family. She truly and wholeheartedly loved her family.
Carmell Willis departed this life on Friday, March 1, 2019.
Carmell leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Carman Lyons and her son, Glynn Willis both of Detroit, Michigan; two sisters, Stella (Anthony) and Venetta (Roderick Sr.); three brothers, Alexandra, Michael and Maurice; one sister-in-law, Gloria Willis; five grandchildren, Demetrius, Ray Ray, Glynn Jr., Mike and Tasha; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a very special friend, Leandras Bradley.
