Brian Pickens Obituary

Brian Terrell Pickens was born May 10th 1982 to LaWanda Pickens and Seantwne Cooper. Brian confessed his faith in the lord early in life and praised him in his own way.

Brian attended Detroit public schools and graduated from Edwin Denby High School in the year 2000 with his diploma and a certificate from Golightly in broadcasting. After graduating from high school Brian worked for the City of Detroit Law Department as an intern. After various other jobs Brian realized that he enjoyed customer service. Because he loved talking to people customer service came very easy to Brian and wherever he worked he made lifelong friends. Brian spent time working for Apple Customer Care and PSCU and at the time of his passing he had begun working for Guardian Medical Alarm and Sam’s Club.

Brian enjoyed music, traveling, video games and time with family and friends. His home had an open door and he enjoyed entertaining. His house was often the location for game night and impromptu gatherings, and he was always a gracious host, ready to serve up some fried chicken. Brian was an avid sports fan and could often be found at a Lions, Tigers or Pistons game. He enjoyed talking football with his uncles Howard and Rod and they spent many Sundays watching the games together. His love for travel was blossoming and during his most recent trip Brian traveled all the way to Las Vegas for the Metamorphosis Tour see his lifetime crush Janet Jackson in celebration of his 37th birthday.

Brian leaves to cherish his memory his parents LaWanda Washington (Marvin) and Seantwne Cooper, sister Felecia Stevenson, nephew Carter Wynn, grandmother Sarah Pickens, aunt LaVetta Annette Pickens, uncles Howard Pickens, Jr (Connie) Roderick Pickens (Sade) and Clifton Howard. He also leaves to cherish his memory cousins Christopher D. Ray, Kalen Williams, Laila Keith and Roderick Pickens Jr, his best friend Tamyria Hopkins and a host of family members and good friends.
