Anthony Cortez Lloyd

January 28, 1995 ~ August 1, 2017 (age 22) 22 Years Old

Anthony  Cortez Lloyd  (aka Roscoe) was born  on January  28, 1995 to  ReConna  Garrett (Marshall) and Claude Lloyd. Anthony  confessed Christ at an early  age and  was baptized at Greater  Missionary  Baptist Church under the pastorate of  Pastor  Dr.  Robert Robinson.  He later joined Second Ebenezer Church  under the  pastorate of Bishop Edgar L.  Vann,  II. Anthony  was an active  member  of  the Chosen Children’s Ministry  and Circle  of Brotherhood Mentoring Program.   Anthony  attended  daycare at Greater  St. Stephen’s Baptist Church. He then transitioned into  the Head Start Program  at  Children’s  Palace. Anthony  was a  student of  the first graduating 8th  grade class of   Detroit   Enterprise  Academy  in  June 2008. Anthony  then attended  Chandler Park Academy  High  School where he   graduated in  June 2012  at the age of  sixteen.  During his  senior  year  of  High School, Anthony  was a student in the People to People  program,  where he  traveled to Paris, France,  Italy, and Germany.  After High School, he  decided  to further his education  by  attending Kentucky  State University  where  he  majored in Criminal   Justice.   Anthony  was an achiever and excelled in every  way. He  played T-ball, coach pitched, and  baseball  with Eagle Club  Sports. From  May  1999 through July  2009;  All Star  Game (2008-2009) with  Kevin Binion and The Braves.   Anthony  worked at  Calumet & Lincoln Detention Center,  which are divisions of  Spectrum. In May  2017, he began employment  at Concentrix, a division of  Fiat-Chrysler. Roscoe was always  “The Life of  the Party.”  He loved to dance and  spend time with family  and friends. He had a charming and  outgoing personality.  He never  met a stranger and  was loved  everywhere  he went. To know him  was to  love  him. Anthony  touched  so  many  lives. He  will  be truly  missed.   Anthony  would like to  let  you know that  his work here is  done. He  received  a call,  a sort of  an offer  you can’t refuse, for an appointment from  which he would not be returning. This assignment comes with a  huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family  and friends he hasn’t seen in  a long time, job security  is exactly 110%. His  new  mission takes him to a new place where he  will be  socializing, dancing, and  swimming. Music and  laughter  is guaranteed.  He left detailed instruction for his family  to celebrate his  mission here, which has  been completed.   On Tuesday,  August 1,  2017 in  Warren, MI from his hospital bed, the Angels notified Anthony  that his new home  was ready  to  take occupancy  immediately. He  passed away  peacefully  in his  sleep at the age  of 22.
