Anthony Cortez Lloyd (aka Roscoe) was born on January 28, 1995 to ReConna Garrett (Marshall) and Claude Lloyd. Anthony confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Greater Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Pastor Dr. Robert Robinson. He later joined Second Ebenezer Church under the pastorate of Bishop Edgar L. Vann, II. Anthony was an active member of the Chosen Children’s Ministry and Circle of Brotherhood Mentoring Program. Anthony attended daycare at Greater St. Stephen’s Baptist Church. He then transitioned into the Head Start Program at Children’s Palace. Anthony was a student of the first graduating 8th grade class of Detroit Enterprise Academy in June 2008. Anthony then attended Chandler Park Academy High School where he graduated in June 2012 at the age of sixteen. During his senior year of High School, Anthony was a student in the People to People program, where he traveled to Paris, France, Italy, and Germany. After High School, he decided to further his education by attending Kentucky State University where he majored in Criminal Justice. Anthony was an achiever and excelled in every way. He played T-ball, coach pitched, and baseball with Eagle Club Sports. From May 1999 through July 2009; All Star Game (2008-2009) with Kevin Binion and The Braves. Anthony worked at Calumet & Lincoln Detention Center, which are divisions of Spectrum. In May 2017, he began employment at Concentrix, a division of Fiat-Chrysler. Roscoe was always “The Life of the Party.” He loved to dance and spend time with family and friends. He had a charming and outgoing personality. He never met a stranger and was loved everywhere he went. To know him was to love him. Anthony touched so many lives. He will be truly missed. Anthony would like to let you know that his work here is done. He received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which he would not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends he hasn’t seen in a long time, job security is exactly 110%. His new mission takes him to a new place where he will be socializing, dancing, and swimming. Music and laughter is guaranteed. He left detailed instruction for his family to celebrate his mission here, which has been completed. On Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in Warren, MI from his hospital bed, the Angels notified Anthony that his new home was ready to take occupancy immediately. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 22. Anthony leaves to cherish his life, legacy, and memories: his parents ReConna and Anthony Marshall and Claude Lloyd; 4 sisters: Antrice, Alexus, Cleo, and Kelsei; 3 brothers: Antonio, Claude, Jr., and Isiah; grandparents: Jan, Pamela, Diane, George, Thomas, Pam; 5 Aunts: TyJuana, Shar’dae, Emmily, Geraldine and Felissa; 8 uncles: Thomas, DeShawn, DeAngelo, Reginald, Craig, Anthony, Greg, and Mark; Godparents: Percy and Doll Rippie; Goddaughter: Avianna Ma’Lia; 3 close friends: Romario, Asia, and Bria; and a host of other cousins, family, and friends.
